Cloud FinOps Practioner
Your responsibilities:
Lead the IPF FinOps function aligned to FinOps Foundation best practices, driving continuous improvement across capabilities
Chair the IPF FinOps Council with Heads of Department and IT Directors to align priorities and coordinate delivery
Own cloud cost governance and reporting, identifying optimisation opportunities and ensuring savings are implemented
Coordinate and prioritise FinOps actions across engineering, platform, finance, and procurement teams with clear tracking and accountability
Drive optimisation initiatives (e.g., rightsizing, commitments, scheduling, storage lifecycle) from discovery through to realised benefits
Translate technical cloud cost and usage data into business-level insight and decision-making for senior stakeholders
Maintain a single source of truth for FinOps activity, including playbooks, runbooks, meeting outputs, and post-mortems
Support cloud platform engineering by promoting reliability, performance, compliance, and “optimised-by-design” cloud environments
Our requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
FinOps Certified Practitioner / FinOps Certified Professional (or strong working knowledge of the framework)
Strong experience managing cloud cost and usage data, especially AWS Cost & Usage Report (CUR)
Proven track record delivering measurable cloud cost optimisation outcomes in a complex organisation
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence across engineering teams through to senior leadership
Strong analytical capability with confidence using data to identify opportunities and track realised savings
Working knowledge of cloud engineering practices, including tagging strategies and cost governance controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to produce concise exec summaries and detailed documentation
